compton-conf software package provides Compton Configurator for Qt, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install compton-conf
compton-conf is installed in your system.
Make ensure the compton-conf package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep compton-conf *
You will get with compton-conf package name, version, architecture and description in a table
